The secret of "The Secret"

From a traditional view of reality, manifestation, as described in The Secret and other “think your desires into reality” schools, is magical or religious thinking. To produce results, some separate, benevolent deity will wave her magic wand and grant your wish. Traditionally, there is no logical support for believing that you can influence reality in any way except through your actions. The time may be coming where a different, non-traditional world view will be accepted. This new world view will support

Signed Respectfully Yours

Are you aware of the effect you have on others? Yes indeed, we all have an effect on others. We are energetic beings and everything we say, do, or think, effects others, even more than one can imagine. Many of us individuals will get up each and every morning only to feel we are jumping right back onto our well traveled paths or may I say “ruts”. As a result we will experience the same experiences day in and day out. At some point in our lives we may get a “wake up call”, but will we heed that call? Will we finally discover we are the creators of our own lives?

As I come to understand more and

WWJD

WWJD or “What would Jesus do?” is a personal motto made popular in the 1990’s by adherents of Evangelical Christianity, who used the phrase as a reminder of their belief in a moral imperative to act in a manner that would demonstrate the love of Jesus through the actions of the adherents. On January 19th, 2012, speaking to a significant group of social conservative leaders, gathered at the ranch of influential Southern Baptist layman and retired Texas Civil Appeals Court Judge, Paul Pressler, said, “Jesus Christ is not on the ballot so we need to come together to endorse a candidate”. So I asked myself, WWJD? Interestingly, this group

Discovery of the "God" Particle

As the magical year of 2012 approaches I’ve been noticing the growing “buzz” in the social Media about the possible “end of times”. Most of which is focused on the speculation of how the world is going to experience a catastrophic event next year. A lot of these ideas have been spawned by creative interpretations of ancient civilizations and their supposed predictions, which don’t really stand up to scrutiny (meaning the prophecies weren’t really about the end of the earth, but about a time of progressive change from the old ways). Fortunately, if one looks past the “screamingly dire warnings of 2012” we may find that it may be actually a time of new beginnings.

Duality or Unity

The recent demonstrations against corporate greed here and in Europe give us an opportunity to study one aspect of the changes coming with the new age; Duality versus Unity. The old model of duality is apparent as the demonstrators protest against wrongs. What might the demonstrations look like if Unity, working together, became the guiding principle? Science fiction can give us some insight when we look at some stories that deal with the theme of artificial life (corporations) vs. humanity.

Some science fiction writers have known all along

The End of End of Time Predictions?

I have listed below 22 predictions (some entries contain multiple dates from the same source) of the end of the world, dating back to the 2nd century A.D. A quick internet search brought me over 50 hits. That means this practice has been going on for over 2000 years. To date all have been wrong, at least as far as my world is concerned. Don’t worry, I am not going to dive in to the theory of multiple universes. I have enough to do navigating the one I am in.

All major faiths, religions and belief systems I know of are in agreement on this topic. It is not known, is unknowable and their followers shouldn’t spend their time worrying about it. They are to spend their time achieving the tenants of their faith. Do that and the end of time is irrelevant. How could the end of the world be irrelevant?
